UBBC is a handy thing that all boards have that allows you to add cool effects to the text in your post, you can use it in your sigs too.
FYI: ALL tags must be encased in brackets [], NOT parenthesis (), so replace parenthesis () with brackets []
------------------------------------------
UBBC Basics
Every UBBC effect has a start and an end, these are called tags. everything taht you type inbetween the tags will have the effect of that tag.
a basic set of tags is the Color tags, these allow you to add a color of your choice to everything inbetween the start and end tags.
------------------------------------------
Example #1
(color=Red)Hi!(/color)wasup?
------------------------------------------
The text in Ex.1 will look like this after you post it, assuming you replaced parenthesis with brackets: Hi!wasup?
------------------------------------------
Track code UBBC
This is VERY IMPORTANT, i ask that you use this UBBC for ALL tracks that you post, it saves space and page loading time.
------------------------------------------
Example #2
Track:
(code)*track here*(/code)
------------------------------------------
Effects:
without UBBC:
Track:
*track here*
with UBBC:
Track:
------------------------------------------
Nesting and using more then one set of tags
OK nesting is probably the most important thing you will learn here. i can't really explain it, so i will give a few short examples.
------------------------------------------
Example #3 "un-nested tags"
(color=green)omg(font, face = arial)this(/color)(move)is (color=black)confusing!(/font)(/color)(/move)
------------------------------------------
Example #4 "nested tags"
(color=green)(font, face = arial)(move)omg this isn't confusing!(/move)(/font)(/color)
------------------------------------------
Results of nesting:
So, see the difference? the nested version makes it easier for both the computer and you to understand, if you don't use nesting, the computer will get confused, and so will you.
so you can use multiple tags, just ass long as they are nested.
------------------------------------------
Thats it for the tutorial, to use more UBBC, in the reply box there is a bunch of buttons that you can press, and each is asscociated with a UBBC tag. so experiment with it a little and you'll be a UBBC expert in no time!
